All dogs and handlers are expected to exceed the minimal standards according to Assistance Dogs International as-well-as advanced skills involving public transportation, air travel, restaurants, stores, traffic, elevators, hotels and many other skills relative to well-adjusted adaptation to the general public.

All dogs and handlers receive periodic evaluations to assure skills are maintained. Dogs In Training are not admitted into *DDSDP until they have been evaluated for health, temperament and met certain standards of public adaptability skills similar to those provided for Therapy Dogs skills and aptitude testing.

Dogs In Training are not admitted into *DDSDP until they have been evaluated for health, temperament and met certain standards of public adaptability skills similar to those provided for Therapy Dogs skills and aptitude testing.

Dandy Dawgs Service Dog Program (DDSDP) takes approximately two years to complete beginning with a Pre-Service Dog Program involving basic obedience and social adaptability skills. Teams are required to show the standards of a Therapy Dog Team skill and aptitude test or the equivalent accepted and approved by Dandy Dawgs owner/trainer, Andrea E. Lloyd, before they may officially enter DDSDP as a Service Dog in Training. This assures for a high level temperament evaluation.

Once dog and handler are officially considered part of the Dandy Dawgs Service Dog Program, they receive a vest, ID cards and lanyard which must be worn all times dog is working in a Service Dog capacity. Note these things may not be *ADA or *ADI requirements.

The team must demonstrate quality training from Dandy Dawgs Basics to the Streets and Advanced Basics Programs or the equivalent.

Once those requirements are met, dog and handler enter advance training toward specific skills required for the disability they will be assisting as-well-as demonstrating all levels of public exposure required of a service dog: public transportation, air travel, restaurants, stores, traffic, elevators, hotels and many other skills relative to well-adjusted adaptation to the general public. They are required to demonstrate that air travel has been successful or successfully simulated also that of any and all public transportation and exposure to such.

Both dog and handler must be able to pass a Public Access Evaluation and demonstrate learned tasks for the disability they are assisting as-well-as demonstrating a high level of obedience and handling skills. Handler must pass and demonstrate an understanding of *ADA Laws and a basic understanding of Canine Health Care.

Graduation and a Dandy Dawgs Service Dog Program Certificate of Registration as a DDSDP graduate complete the program.

Cooperation from handler in all DDSDP requirements and rules are mandatory and abuse of ADA Laws will not be tolerated. Andy Lloyd, Owner/Trainer may terminate contract at her discretion. Vests and ID cards must be returned if contract is terminated at any time.
