Mission Statement

It is the intention that Dandy Dawgs Service Dog Program turn out Service Dog Teams who meet the criteria and expectations of Service and Assistance Dogs coming from the finest Service Dog Programs from across the country.

The commitment of this program is to maintain the standards in temperament, skills and handling abilities of all Dandy Dawgs Service Dog Program Teams throughout the years the dogs are in service.

This program is designed to train Balance Assist, Mobility Assist, Psychological Service Dogs, Low Level Medical Response/Assist, Low Level Hearing Assist and Emotional Support Dogs. The training entails teaching handlers to perform as a unit with their dogs.

All training is done with Dandy Dawgs high standards of positive reinforcement reward based behavioral and obedience training techniques.

Only dogs who will demonstrate temperaments required to meet the highest standards and expectations of public exposure will be accepted into this program. If they are unable to show aptitude to continue beyond section two of the program, they will be asked to withdraw.

All breeds and backgrounds are welcome. Each dog must be spayed or neutered with fecal floats and vet checks reported yearly.

It is the honor of Dandy Dawgs Service Dog Program to offer an avenue of service and assistant dog work as an opportunity for canines in the community to be all they can be through noble jobs which present a way for active participation in the lives of the people they devotedly love and serve.
